Synchronizing

This section explains how to synchronize your wallet through the desktop application.

Why Regular Wallet Synchronization Matters#

Wallet synchronization helps your wallet application reflect the latest account state, network activity, and supported assets. Make it a routine check before you review balances, sign a transaction, or troubleshoot a mismatch — a few seconds spent synchronizing spares you from acting on stale or incomplete data.

That discipline has never mattered more than it does today. Following the deprecation of the legacy IOTA network and staking, your wallet must stay aligned with the current network and ledger state. An up-to-date synchronization is what ensures the balances and supported assets you see are real, and that any transaction you sign is submitted against the correct chain — not against a stale snapshot of a retired network.

In short: if your wallet has not synchronized recently, synchronize before you review balances, sign a transaction, or investigate a mismatch. It is a small step that keeps your account view trustworthy and your decisions accurate.
